Everybody is welcomed to the joint work in Jelgava Castle Island! On Saturday, October 14, everybody is welcomed to joint work of restoration of floodplain meadow in Jelgava City. On Saturday, October 14, everybody is welcomed to joint work of restoration of floodplain meadow in Jelgava City. It is organized by the Latvian Fund for Nature under the LIFE-Nature project “Restoration of Floodplains”. The Jelgava Castle Island situated in the centre of Jelgava City is valuable with natural resources and a unique site in the European scale. In order to preserve the nature values and the scenery, it is necessary to clean the meadows from bushes. This joint work is meant for anyone willing to spend their holidays actively and also to render their work as an investment in favour of the preservation of nature diversity in Latvia. The programme for joint work in Jelgava Castle Island on October 14: - till 10:00 the gathering at the parking place next to Jelgava Castle
- 10:00 – 10:30 the opening of the joint work, tea/ coffee and subsequent job scheduling
- 10:30 – 13:30 improving the territory (main works: bush cutting and gathering them into piles and garbage collecting)
- 13:30-14:30 the lunch
- 14:20 -16:00 continuing work
- 16:00 the end of the joint work
People participating in this joint work will be provided with the necessary equipment for cutting the bushes, as well as work glows. Free lunch will be served by the help of “Jelgavas baltie krekli”. We request to arrive to this joint work in comfortable clothing suitable for working and weather conditions.
