The Newsletter Winter 2005/2006 of the reputable international organization Planta Europa featured the Latvian Fund for Nature. Information is found in the section on the New Members of Planta Europa; for a full article in English click here.

The Latvian Fund for Nature (LFN) became a member of this organization in April 2005 with the aim to further strengthen its experience for improved efforts in preserving biological diversity in Latvia. The LFN is featured together with other three new members from Scotland, France and Greece. For the entire news page in a .pdf format click here.

Planta Europa is the Network of independent organisations, non-governmental and governmental, working together to conserve European wild plants and fungi. Planta Europa and the Council of Europe developed the European Plant Conservation Strategy (EPCS) to provide a framework for wild plant conservation in Europe and in response to the decision by the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) to consider the development of a Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (GSPC).
