About three hours the project team, different experts and landowners have discussed about most actual things related to nature conversation and floodplains management. Project manager Ms Inga Racinska leaded this meeting and after ceremonial beginning next speaker was Ms Ivita Nagle from the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Latvia. She has introduced auditory of 50 people about NATURA 2000 and general management rules in these territories for landowners. The next orators were head persons from North Vidzme Biosphere Reserve. After their introduction about nature values of surrounding everybody of landowners were positively surprised and looked inspired for Herculean works! Continuation was information about UNDP/GEF project “Conservation of biodiversity in North Vidzme Biosphere Reserve”. After followed all the interested things for landowners in their properties. Public awareness coordinator of project Mr Andris Klepers has introduced about nature values in Seda floodplain meadows and has made them ready to hear the next speech from regional coordinator Mr Ainars Aunins. Short break before main part was very useful. It has instigated maximum of direct contacts and welthy debates between landowners, local municipality and experts. Followed topics were main objects of interest: methods of restoration and planned works in concrete territories. No wonder, that directly in this part was the "hottest" discussion (but also in previous part were active debates about crane’s done damages for grain fields or badly road infrastructure in Seda River left bank). Lot of questions were about financial support from Rural Support Service after the project. Augural sense of project manager has protected whole team from so many questions and there were still two orators directly from this organisation. They have introduced the people about main rural support programmes and answered main questions. Landowners were satisfied with this meeting and as a result is first signed agreements about restoration works.
