Nature tourism product development seminar in Vidzeme, 28th April 2011

On 28th April this year in guest house “Rakari” was held third seminar organized within project “Agora 2.0”. Topic for this seminar was nature tourism product development. 28 tourism businessmen, tourism information center employees and other interested took part in this seminar.

During the seminar Sandra Bērziņa from Latvian Environmental Protection Fund spoke about the usage of lichens – from old sayings to practical recipes. In addition Andris Klepers form LDF and Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences was telling about the specificity of nature tourism products, their conditions and formation possibilities in North-Vidzeme. While the seminar was held it was raining, that is why the time which was planned to be spent outside exploring surrounding lichens and demonstrating how to use them in tourism, was used in further discussions about the nature product formation and sales promotion possibilities.

Presentations read during the seminar can be found here.

Thank you all, who took part in the seminar! We hope that everything heard, seen and learned during the seminar will give a new inspiration in tourism range diversification and will increase nature tourism product development.

Those who are interested in establishing their knowledge gained during the seminar and also wants to explore something new about other plant of animal kingdom groups are more than welcome to take part in other LLTA “Lauku ceļotājs” organized seminars about nature tourism product development held in May this year.  Visit LLTA “Lauku ceļojtājs” home page www.celotajs.lv for further information.
