Project aim: Improvement of co-operation among nature conservation NGOs in the Nordic-Baltic region and identification of role of nature conservation NGOs in public biodiversity monitoring.

Project activities:

  1. identification of the possible players and preparation of list of contacts of nature conservation NGOs and making it available in the website of project partners,
  2. analysis of nature conservation NGOs in each country and two provinces (Småand and Västergötland) in Sweden, their capacities and needs and impact on nature conservation and identification of international, national and regional players in each country based on questionnaires prepared by project partners, 
  3. analysis of biodiversity monitoring for general public in the Nordic-Baltic region and set up of future developments,
  4. preparation of the publication on the study `Nature conservation and environmental NGOs in the Nordic-Baltic region and their role in biodiversity monitoring`,
  5. knowledge and information exchange - workshop for project partners and invited speakers (number of participants –15 - 25, location - Latvia) on involvement of general public in biodiversity monitoring – experience from each country: Sweden, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, and the role of nature conservation NGOs in the public monitoring. The development of the plan for future co-operation.
  6. preparation, editing and finalisation of workshop report,
  7. workshop report will be published on web page of Latvian Fund for Nature and a summary included in the project publication,
  8. information about project activities will be put on all partners` web pages,
  9. at least two articles/interviews in the national media of Latvia will be initiated on project results,
  10. dissemination of project publication in all project countries.
