Exhibition at the Natural History Museum of Latvia devoted to Latvian mires

On February 5, 2009 an exhibition “Let’s get introduced with Latvian mires” was opened at the Natural History Museum of Latvia, Kr. Barona Street 4.

The exhibition was set up in cooperation with the mire expert from Latvian Fund for Nature Dr. Mara Pakalne. It includes photos produced by the experts in the frame of EC LIFE-Nature project “Implementation of Mire Habitat Management Plan for Latvia”: A.Avotiņš, B.Bambe, V.Baroniņa, A.Blumbergs, A.Indriksons, M.Kalniņš, A.Klepers, J.Ķuze, M.Pakalne, A.Petriņš, I.Rēriha, V.Spuņģis and a Professional photographer Uldis Muzikants. The Latvian Fund carried out the project for Nature from 2004-2008.

At the exhibition it is possible to see the move “Life in the Mire” produced in the frame of EC Life project “Mires” by “Film and Photo association ELM MEDIA” and a photo story made by Uldis Muzikants about the daily life of mire experts.

The exhibition is open from February 5 until March 8, 2009.
