The film about Engure is highly evaluated in Slovakia

On Friday, October 26 a documentary film of a Latvian director Kaspars Goba "Lake Engure – a Gift from the Sea" has obtained high appreciation in the international film festival taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia Ekotopfilm, which was shown on October 23 as one of the documentary films of several other countries on nature and sustainable development according to the programme of the festival programme.

The festival has been taking place in Slovakia already for 34 years and is dedicated to the matter of facilitation of sustainable development  and nature protection. The presentation of the festival is available to see here (3.05 MB) The Grand Prix of the festival was obtained by Italy. The international festival began on October 22 and came to an end on Friday with an awarding ceremony in Bratislava town hall.

The film "Lake Engure. A Gift from the Sea" was made within the framework of LIFE-Nature project "Establishment of the Nature Protection Plan of Lake Engure Nature Park".

Elm Media, which is represented by Kaspars Goba and the Latvian Fund for Nature are planning to continue this creative cooperation by jointly making nature films for schools. The information on the project "Making Educational Documentary Films on the Matters of Nature Protection and Sustainable Development for Latvian Schools" will soon be available in the home page of the LFN. The financing for implementation of this project is received already by now from the Society Integration Foundation, the program of EEA Financial Mechanism and Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
