The investigation of osprey in Latvia is begun again with an aim to gather information and test all until now known osprey nesting ground territories in Latvia and provide them with an appropriate protection status.

The investigation of osprey in Latvia is begun again with an aim to gather information and test all until now known osprey nesting ground territories in Latvia and provide them with an appropriate protection status. Once , the former leader of LNF Māris Kreilis indulged with investigations of this specie in the end of 80-ties. Now the project is leaded by Aigars Kalvāns and will continue untill the end of this year. There are about 100-150 nesting pairs of osprey in Latvia. More birds are migrating through the Latvian teritorry.
